Kristina Hallez

Kristina Hallez

Kristina Hallez is a researcher and communications officer at the Social Research Center of the American University in Cairo. Dedicated to innovative communications, she has worked on many projects for the Middle East hub to increase Pathways' visibility in the region. Currently, Kristina is working to establish the Ford Foundation Social Protection Network - a database of scholarly publications, research, and resources about international social welfare policies and programs. 

Léa Santana is the communications officer for Pathways Latin America at NEIM in Bahia, Brazil. Her work involves coordinating researchers' outputs with communications projects for the benefit of the academic and local community. Léa has a degree in Public Relations and is finishing a postgraduate program in gender and public policy. She is interested in technology, culture and discourse analysis.

The Comms Team

The Comms Team in Cairo

Samia Rahim is a researcher and communications officer at BRAC. Her area of research concerns women's (self) empowerment and its relationship with popular culture media - how women view themselves in relation to female media idols in Bangladesh. Samia helped organise the 2008 Changing Images of Women photo contest and Stories of Change documentary tour.

Akofa Anyidoho is the program administrator and communication officer for Pathways West Africa at CEGENSA. She has been active in online communications reaching out to new audiences through visual and multimedia aids. The Pathways West Africa blog has been a resource for audiences interested in following the work of Pathways researchers. Akofa is interested in creative writing, blogging and photography.

Joslyn Massengale is a communication officer at the Social Research Center of the American University in Cairo. She is interested in social networking tools as a method for activism and has worked to connect an online audience with the Pathways community. Forming an Arabic-language women's activism network is particularly important for Pathways Middle East. 

Tessa Lewin is the communications team manager for Pathways. She is an animator, musician, and technology buff. Her vision for Pathways communications ranges from documentaries to audio programs to communications research. She is steering the second phase of Pathways towards communications outreach and output with an emphasis on international exchange and support. Tessa is creating an animated project based off the Qalet el Rawiyah, "So Said the Storyteller", performance series produced by the Cairo-based Women in Memory Forum.

 

Obaasima

In November 2008 the Pathways Communications Team took part in the Feminist Tech Exchange organised by the Association for Progressive Communications Women's Networking Support (APC WNSP) at the AWID Forum in Capetown.

Akofa Anyidoho, Communications Officer for the West Ghana Hub, participated in the Digital Storytelling training track at the event and inspired by the learning there she produced her digital Story 'Obaasima' illustrating her concerns as a woman. See below for the link to this story on youtube:
