Conceptualising Empowerment

Visualising Women's Rights in the Arab World

Visualising Women's Rights in the Arab World was a workshop conceptualised and organised by Tactical Tech and hosted at the community-run Feynan EcoLodge in the Jordanian desert. The workshops included three learning tracks in the afternoons: imaging and animation, information design, and mapping. Tessa Lewin, the Pathways Communications Manager led the facilitation on the imaging and animation track along with Sarah Rifaat, and Egyptian art-activist.

The workshop brought together 44 activists working on a variety of women's rights issues in the Arab region to explore how information and data can be visualised, through images, animation, info-graphics, and maps to communicate issues clearly and impact a target audience. Kristina Hallez, the Pathways Middle East Communications Officer, was among the participants.
